What I love About My Course:
It is focused on Sexology, I love the broadness of Sexology and how it impacts everyone in different ways.
What I Find Challenging About My Course:
Because it is sexual health it is through Sydney Medical School, I am not medically minded as I have studied Counselling so getting my head around the anatomy and physiology sections is challenging.
Diploma of Counselling and Bachelor of Counselling.
What I Want To Be When I Grow Up:
Psychotherapist specializing in sexual health/ sex therapy.
My Best Study Tips And Tricks Are:
Study where ever and whenever you get a chance, don’t commit to doing more than you can humanly fit into a week. The best things take time.
My Biggest Challenge As A Study Mum Has Been:
Finding the balance between studying and mum duties sometimes. It gets better the longer I study and the older my children get. Also, finding the time to feel like a professional when I am mostly in “mum mode”.
How I Keep Motivated:
My goal’s for my career and my personal life, also being a good role model for my daughters. I want them to know that they can do anything as long as they work hard for it.
My Best Advice For Other Mums Who Are Considering Studying:
If you are passionate about it, do it, you need that passion to keep you going on the tough days, and there will be a lot of them. If you are nervous, start off small and work your way up to the big stuff like I have, you get better at it the longer you do it. And ultimately at the end of the day you will regret the things you did not do because the time will pass anyway.
